Welcome! I am a Ph.D. Candidate in education policy at the Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership at the University of Maryland, College Park, advised by Dr. Jing Liu. I am interested in studying how diverse families engage in their children's education and the process and effects of school-based family engagement. In my work, I utilize both qualitative and quantitative research methods to better understand these complex questions. Prior to my Ph.D. studies, I was an elementary school teacher in rural Taiwan and a research associate at Teach for Taiwan. My research interests are informed by my experience engaging nondominant families both as a teacher and a researcher.
